Neal Skorpen's "Creating Graphic Novels Workshop" (19-21 Nov 08) - part 1

I attended a 3-day workshop on creating graphic novels organised by the NBDCS last week and led by artist Neal Skorpen.

Well, one of the reasons I signed up was because the course circular mentioned "drawing ability not required", but that went out of the window when Neal asked us to start drawing from Day 1 ! OK, a few of the 36+ participants were quite good at illustration, but the majority of us were amateurs.

This was what I drew on Day 3, for an exercise which required us to retell any epic of choice using 12 panels. Mine started out as a spoof of Frank Miller's "300", but after the 3rd panel, it became a satire about Electronic Road Pricing.
